The Federation of Olympia Donated Clothing for Children and Teenagers to the Holy Metropolis of Ilia

Continuing their efforts to create clothing banks for children, the Federation of Olympia and the Association Politeia of Ilida Olympia, during these difficult times for our region, donated clothing for children and teenagers to the Holy Metropolis of Ilia.

Members and volunteers of the Federation of Olympia visited the Metropolis institution located in the Municipal District of Kentro, Municipality of Ilida, where they were welcomed by the head of the institution, Archimandrite Fr. Filaretos.

During the discussion with the Most Reverend Archimandrite Filaretos, the President of the Federation of Olympia, Mrs. Sofia Hintziou Kontogianni, emphasized that “the aim of the Federation is to create clothing banks in parishes, to be used at the Church’s discretion. When someone is in need, they should be able to go there and ask the priest for what their child requires. Some people may not wish, for their own reasons, to turn to state structures, but may find it easier to approach their local priest. For this reason, we are cooperating with the Holy Metropolis of Ilia, so that whenever there is a need, people can turn to it and find support. We hope that with everyone’s help we will meet the expectations of the children of Ilia…”.
