Ancient Pisa – Ancient Olympia: The Route of Kleosthenis 2022 (5 km)

The events of the 7th Route of Olympic Truce began on the morning of 14 May with the Route of Kleosthenis.
This is a competitive 5 km race from Ancient Pisa to Ancient Olympia.

It is recalled that Kleosthenis, King of Pisa, was, according to tradition, the third ancient ruler—together with Ifitos, King of Ilida, and Lycurgus of Sparta—who signed the Sacred Olympic Truce.

In the Route of Kleosthenis, the top male finishers were:
Marinos Tsoukas, Nikos Stathakopoulos and Vasilis Vasileiou.
The top female finishers were:
Maria Panagiotou, Evgenia Tzevelekou and Ioanna Bousdouk.

Partner organisations for the actions of Sympoliteia Olympia within the framework of the 7th Route of Olympic Truce were the International Olympic Truce Centre and the Czech Centre Athens.
The actions were supported by the Region of Attica and #BEACTIVE, and were held under the auspices of the Ministries of National Defence; Culture and Sports (General Secretariat of Sports); Rural Development and Food; Tourism, as well as CISM, the Hellenic Olympic Committee, the International Olympic Academy, the Greek National Tourism Organisation, Hellenic Olympic Academy, and the Association of Olympic Participants.

The actions of Sympoliteia Olympia also had the technical support of the War Museum of Athens and communication sponsors: PSAT, ERT, ERT-3, Proto Programma, ERA SPORT, ERT Pyrgos, Athens 9.84, RunningNews.gr, OVI Magazine, apopseis.gr, GreekTeachers.
